EMC Captiva is a part is EMC Documentum integrated Imaging solution, It is needed when the content life cycles includes physical documents that needs scanning with high volumes or of consistent structure. It is also used for backlogs of physical documents that need to be scanned and converted into a digital format to be accessed from the computer.

BASS has implemented many projects that were either Captiva based only or integrated with Documentum.

BASS does not offer scanning and backlog document entries it only offers Captiva as software for this process.
